Die Rolls

Each time you roll, you use 4 Fudge dice (4dF) to generate a result between – 4 and + 4. When reading the dice, a + equals + 1, and a – equals – 1. The blank sides (noted as []) are 0.

Example die rolls:

+ – + + equals + 3

[] – + – equals + 1

[] [] + + equals + 2

The total from the dice is added to whatever skill you’re using at the time to get your result.

Example: Bob is an Average (+ 1) athlete. He rolls the dice to vault over a picnic table so that he can avoid a werewolf and gets the following on the dice:

- – [] + (- 1)

Add that – 1 roll to his + 1 from the Athletics skill, and his effort ends up being 0, which on the Ladder is rated at Mediocre.

It is possible to roll beyond the Ladder. Sometimes, you’ll get a roll that lands higher than Legendary (+ 8), or lower than Terrible (- 2).
